Our Inspiration
Genvi is born from the essence of femininity. Fluid, powerful, intuitive. The kind that lingers in a voice, a gesture, a handmade seam.
At its heart, Genvi is a love letter to the Levantine spirit. To the rituals that softened days and stitched meaning into the ordinary. It carries the imprint of Levantine women, those who preserved beauty in their hands and kept it alive through making.
Where Our Story Begins
This story begins in my Tayta’s traditional Lebanese stone house, where I spent my summers. She was a designer and tailor, a quiet artist whose work lived mostly out of sight, like many women of her generation.
Her home was a place where days unfolded like pages of a quiet, living memory.
Its air held a trace of olive oil, as if the stones themselves remembered the trees that were once rooted in them.
The breeze carried the scent of orange blossoms through green wooden shutters, weaving a quiet dance of aromas.
The rhythm of her sewing machine, the tap of a coffee pot, and family laughter filled the rooms.
The Pause and The Return
My mother inherited Tayta’s gift, but believed those traditions had no place in the future. The world around her was changing to a fast, industrial one, detached from the intimacy of handmade work.
Genvi is my answer to that belief.
A continuation of what nearly faded.
A reinterpretation of heritage for the present.
The name Genvi carries our legacy. “Gen” for generations and time-honoured stories. “Vi” for Vilma, my mother—and for the Latin root meaning life force, movement, and strength. Together, Genvi honours what came before and reimagines what’s possible.
Philosophy of Making
Genvi creates garments and accessories that honour traditional silhouettes, fabrics, and craftsmanship, reimagined for today. Some pieces are handmade by artisans, while others are thoughtfully produced to balance craft and accessibility.
From hand-embroidered pieces to clean, modern cuts softened with movement, every piece is designed with care. We use natural fabrics that breathe with the body and are soft against the skin, effortless in motion, and comforting in ways that feel like home.
This is fashion with a soul. A wardrobe of meaning. Where tradition informs design, and new generations wear the quiet influence of the ones before them.
